The daycare day

First day of daycare at bright horizons Redmond. The girls are due for an adventure.



Car will get us there.



The daycare is well organized. The student to teacher ratio is low at 1:3. Today is 1:2.5.
We provide diapers and change of clothes.
Xiao jam was wary of the choice of diaper bag.



Another two kids in the class speak baby mandarin. The teachers know some essential baby words in mandarin too - niao bu, chi, shui, sui, etc. More words than xiao jam knows.



Within 5 minutes of arrival Mimi got her first disciplining from teacher for climbing table.



Too many toys not explored, no time for byes.



7 hours of daycare came and went.

Xiao E was mad when we came in, kicking teacher and threatening to swallow her binky. She gave teacher a hard time. Mimi did well. They averaged to a score of OK. Tomorrow's supposed to be harder on them. Hope there'll be more toys to explore, less time for byes.



Us arriving left one last boy in the class by himself. He was sad. Teacher asked me to tell him in mandarin his mom was on her way and he could get ready. On hearing the mention of his mama, his eyes widened and tears welled up.



Teacher held him. He took breaks from crying to listen to our conversations.

Traffic at 4:30 was light, straight back home!

Mimi was careful stepping down the step today, after yesterday's face plant. Even though evil sissy has gone ahead today.




Today.. Safe!



They don't want to sit. Exploring is more fun.



Mimi went far. The uncomfortable mulch stopped her.



Chicken and tofu.



Mimi escaped. So highchair for her.



Xiao E didn't enjoy eating by herself. No one to annoy.




So highchair for both.

Plum was popular.




Went for an hour walk, good exercise. Sitting is hard for the girls.



Especially when the sun is out.



Until they fall asleep.



This calls for abuse.

9/9 Saturday Mimi woke early and followed ma ma to the adults' bedroom. Mimi called for ki mao and stalked him. Ri mao remained 'mao mao', she was also stalked. The day

Inspired by R's blogging endeavor I'm also starting a blog to encourage myself to do more with the girls. They started with fluffy heads. Took a walk, they were slightly amused. Wanted to wake them up from nap with enthusiasm! But scared the shit out of them. Xiao E recovered fast, mimi was distraught. Understandable.. Mimi has been sensitive since she was bashed by sister two days ago. Tricked by dad's fake cries and cried out of sympathy yesterday. And choked by sissy in the morning. She eventually recovered. Sissy was always playful. Xiao E was hording snack. Mimi grabbed a handful of cereals first chance she got. And went to the corner to eat. Sissy wouldn't leave her alone. Time to refill food from Target. Girls were very excited to see so many gou gou's! Took R's tips and blew dry the girls' hair to define curls. Mimi became very cute! Xi...

The rash day

Tuesday 8/15 Mid August chills arrived. The daycare class refilled with all new kids. The girls became veterans. To Ooba Tooba for dinner. Quesadilla was put to the test. It passed. Chip was put to the test. It passed. Napkin was put to the test. It did not pass. Sunshine returned. Ba ba sacrificed his ear to advance xiao E. To Swedish Pediatrics for Mimi's rash. Xiao E observed the yu yu's. Mimi accused the yu yu's for you youing (swimming). Mimi was a good xiao patient of 20 pounds. Xiao E was distraught. Unsure she was more bothered by potential stabbing or lack of attention. Mimi was diagnosed with contact dermatitis, allergy to mysterious source. She was given empathy and dismissed.
